The problem with fake ids are some employees do not respect the owner's instruction’s and fail the inspection by not understanding their importance and trust owners place in their decision making.  The duty of care is a legal responsibility required when serving alcohol in any location. China fake ids are abundant and will pass on police scanners.  The time spent on identification checking has to be more than 3 seconds. If you fail to correctly read and match the document to the person you could have a problem. All servers and watchmen (security) have to understand they control the amount of risk that is allowed into the establishment. The opinions of your employees control the risk of underage adults and possibly poly–impaired patrons allowed alcohol service. Owners trust employees to do the right things, and “Be careful,” and, “take your time.” All employees are rechecking the patron's state of well-being continually and ongoing. Remember that you have to card patrons to make sure they are over the 21 when paying the bill with alcohol service on it. Alcohol legal payment and legal drinking with adult parents/wife or husband/ legal guardian over the age of 21 consumption laws differs with the states and city ordinances. YOU HAVE TO CHECK WITH YOUR CITY CLERK.If you fail a compliance your staff should card everyone until you pass your next test. The tapes on front door cameras will show all people entering presenting their valid identification. 
When your employees are asked by a police did you know the person was a minor when you served them alcohol?  They can answer, “We only serve adults over the age of 21 with valid ids”. “We never served a minor.” No proof of policy enforcement makes it harder to defend yourself. The employees have right to recheck any patron’s valid identification after ordering and before serving alcohol. Some state allows staff to confiscate the patron’s identification and some don’t allow it. There are patrons at times that abandon the identification while waiting for the police to arrive. A lot of credit cards are abandon in bars. Never get into a physical fight over the identification validity let the managers and police handle it. Know what your state law is about holding onto the patron’s identification and written police instruction’s from your area.1. How to ask for the identification? May I please have your valid state-issued identification? If you ask to see the id you did not ask to take possession of the identification. All employees will check the carding defense laws in your state.  Your carding defense only applies to the valid identification listed in the “state proof of age statues”. Do not expand the approved statute identification list on your own. Any questionable identification is brought to the manager’s attention immediately. 2.  All fake ids or other people’s real ids being used falsely are abandon when the patron leaves the premise after the police were informed about the false document. It can be very dangerous when staff uses acts of physical force to control the patron involved. Let them go, call the police before someone is going to get hurt. You have to know what the police in your location want you to do. You have control of their false identification call the police and then you can turn it over to the police when they come.It is not worth someone getting hurt. There are so many fakes that are other people’s real ids being used illegally and China fake ids that read of police scanners as valid ids. It is very hard to tell the difference.3. How to check the identification. A) Use the words “have” and “please” when requesting a patron identification. Hold the identification head high to look across at the person not down at your hands. Posting your house policy on carding as a condition of entry at the front entry. The public posting educates all patrons to have their valid identification out. You must ask (have) to be in control of the given identification but never take anything out of a person’s wallet or purse when checking identification. Always thank the patron for his assistance. B) Check the expiration date of validity of the document. Remember current identification from Arizona over the age of 21 never expire. C) Check the identification to make sure it is not clipped or punched, that person match the identification (eye color, height, weight, ears, and nose lines) is the lamination coming off, is their dirt on the edges, are there any alter numbers, and when you bent id slightly does it leave a crease in the identification. d) The first thing you check is the expiration date (is it current).  e) Date of birth is today and 1997 (if you see 1997 and assume it is over 21 that may be wrong) do your math correctly. All minor adult drivers licenses are vertical drivers licenses so be careful and get a manager to okay, (Minnesota is the only state in the nation with a horizontal under 21 sign above the picture). G) Height and weight are good indicators to match up H) match (eye color, height, weight, ears, and nose lines to the picture) I) Check restriction on the back of the identification for driver license restrictions. Some identification licenses do not expire on their birthday so you have to do your math and get a manager for approval of “Driver Permits and Provisional Driver License.” j) Always check the identification location in the wallet so you can see his real license is behind the fake identification k) Young adults can be so arrogant and have a want of entitlement at times L) Have a flashlight and bright light at the entryway  for increasing your ability to read the documents k) the easiest way to check and find fake ids is by staff asking questions. 1. Have lived in this state a long time? What the capital? 2. What year did you graduate from high school? If they have to think about the answers it is a problem. These are timing questions 3. Are you a donor? They have to be able to answer these questions quickly. 4) Checking for perforated identification (having little holes) Is a good sign, use a flashlight 5) and look for tricolor holograms  that are changing colors are good indicators of real document’s, 6) Dot matrix printing used to make holograms and golden emblems through the state names a indicators of false identification. No state uses dot matrix printing. 6) Black lights help show state security marks and hidden pictures better.
